A LATE START FOR 2008

Finnaly I went fishing for the first time in 08 the water was very cold, we still have around 2 to 3 (1m ) foot of snow remaining in the forest wich is quite alot left to melt so the rivers will remain cool all through June wich is good news. My first outing was for sea run brook trout on the St Laurence River, wich is 100 % percent salt water at this location on the North Shore. The sea run brookies are majoraty kelt or post spawn fish that are leaving the fresh water to come feed in the feed rich salt water at this time of year. This was a first fishing outing with the boys in 08 also wich makes it perfect to warm up and to teach techniques to the boys that are 8 and 12 years old. We didnt get fish but we had lots of fun with lots of sea bird and good scenery.
