Vandoo is a dear friend of mine we get to spend 2 weeks together on the North Shore each summer to fish sea trout and atlantic salmon. He is a very informative atlantic salmon angler who fish lots of eastern canadien rivers from thr Margeree to our North Shore rivers like Pentecote and Trinité rivers. For over two decades now, the Fédération québécoise pour le saumon atlantique (FQSA) has patronized an international salmon fly tying championship that has become one of the most prestigious in its kind, based on the participation of hundreds of highly talented fly tyers from all over the world. Among those who have risen to the challenge, many have distinguished themselves year after year and have been elevated to the rank of Master Tyers. Masterpieces have been created in the process for the joy and admiration of all. By holding this special event year after year, the FQSA has served to stimulate creativity among the salmon fly tying community and to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of participating salmon fly tying artists. Yearly statistics reveal that in excess of a thousand persons have visited the Championship’s Internet site on a weekly basis over the duration of the Championship and downloaded its regulations.

Depuis maintenant de nombreuses années, la fédération québécoise pour le saumon atlantique parraine un championnat international de montage de mouches à saumon. au fil des ans, le championnat est devenu un des plus prestigieux avec la participation de plusieurs centaines de participants provenant du monde entier. certains d’entre eux, par le défi ainsi proposé, se sont élevés au rang de maîtres-monteurs par les résultats d’excellence accumulés au cours des ans. des chef-d’œuvres furent ainsi créés. d’année en année, nous avons su préserver l’héritage historique et culturel dans le montage des mouches à saumon, tout en stimulant l’évolution des mouches et la créativité des monteurs. par les années passées, plus de 1 500 personnes par semaine visitaient le site internet du championnat, et on peut compter annuellement plus de mille téléchargements de la réglementation durant la durée du championnat

RED EYE SMELT TUBE FLY KIT (INTERCHANGEABLE BODY AND HEAD)

Well here they are, I tried my first tube flies today.

I tried it with my RED EYE Smelt Patterns. I remember in 2004 PAul C Marriner had with him some interchangeable tube flies for salmon. If my memory serves my right he had various bodies and head (wings) that would be interchangeable and would create many popular flies.
